I don't know much about mushrooms, but I think these are a couple of young Macrolepiota Procera, known as the 'giant parasol mushrooms'. The biggest of the two was about 17-18 cm tall.

About the mushroom: I believe the mushroom in the photo is the Shaggy Ink Cap mushroom (Coprinus comatus). It grows in autumn to a hight of about 150 mm. It is edible but it contains an enzyme that prevents the removal of alcohol toxins so you shouldn't drink alcohol for two days from the time you consume this mushroom. The gills turn black and melt as it gets older.
I took this photo at the edge of a forested area about 30 miles from Chicago.

What lies ahead?
This was taken on La Mesa Eco Park. the park is under the La Mesa Watershed. This water shed provides water for Manila (capital of the Philippines) and other nearby area. Efforts have been made to make this little watershed survive. few years ago, land developers are planning to put up a subdivision on the area but due to the efforts of concerned individuals, the plan was not carried on. The action includes, signature campaign, mass exposure of the proposed area in the national television and print material.
I myself is a nature lover. im a bacpacker, mountaineer and a traveler. I dont want our forests be destroyed because of those who are just thinking about their personal development.

The photo was taken late in the day at Frontenac Provincial Park. Frontenac Provincial Park is located just north of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Frontenac is a very large semi-wilderness park with over 5,000 hectares of land and roughly 160 kilometers of trails. This particular shot features a small lake in the wild about half a kilometer off one of the trails.
